Biography
RICHARD SINNOTT
Richard has been a professional for 26 years, appears regularly on TV as an actor and is in demand as a voice-artist; voicing the recent 'Johnson and Johnson' kitchen showroom campaign. Television credits include HEARTBEAT, BLUE MURDER, COLD FEET, ALWAYS & EVERYONE, CHRISTMAS LIGHTS, SUNSHINE, BOY MEETS GIRL, MOBILE, INSTINCT, GOLDPLATED, WHERE THE HEART IS and THE FORSYTE SAGA. He has also appeared as the recurring character of the local GP in all three series of 'THE STREET' and was likewise recurring as the Open University maths boffin in both series of LIFE ON MARS. He is the Villain in the computer game INDEPENDENCE DAY 2 and appeared as the Bank Manager in the film THE PAROLE OFFICER with Steve Coogan.
He has the further distinction of having been in EMMERDALE as five different characters and never setting foot in 'The Woolpack', topped only by his appearing on 'CORONATION STREET as five different characters and never setting foot in 'The Rovers'.
He works as a lecturer and director on three separate university Performing Arts degrees, is a fully qualified teacher - freelancing at mainstream and Special Needs schools - and conducts day and residential team-building/INSET workshops for the corporate sector, the Women’s Institutes and schools and colleges as far afield as Hong Kong.
He is the author of the original stage play LAID UPON A PEBBLE-BED ( Jennie Lee Theatre ).
He was also the director of ‘FENCING FOR LOSERS’, a world premiere stage play that he steered into a successful transfer at Manchester’s prestigious Lowry Theatre in January 2010.
Most excitingly, he is the co-founder/director of 'THE ACTRY FACTRY,' under which umbrella he directs the aforementioned workshops, performs CV surgery, offers tuition for auditions, work-presentations and interviews, and hosts yearly improvisation classes for adult beginners, known as 'Acting For Fun' ( www.theactryfactry.com ).
